Frequently Asked Questions
Chronological age is your age in calendar time — the number of years, months and days elapsed since your date of birth. It is the standard legal and medical definition of age used for exam eligibility, admission cutoffs, retirement, and official documents.
For SSC CGL, age is calculated as on the 1st August of the exam year (or as notified). Candidates must not exceed the upper age limit on that date. Use our Exam Eligibility tab — enter your DOB and the cutoff date from the official notification to check instantly.
Step 1: Subtract birth year from current year to get years. Step 2: If birth month/day hasn't occurred yet this year, subtract 1. Step 3: Count remaining months and days. The calculator handles leap years and varying month lengths (28/29/30/31) automatically for accuracy.
Chronological age = time since birth (fixed, measurable). Biological age = how old your body functions (varies based on health, lifestyle, genetics). Psychological/mental age relates to cognitive ability. Only chronological age is used for legal, official, and educational purposes.
The calculator shows your total age in days in the breakdown section. A person born 1 January 1995 is approximately 11,492 days old as of mid-2026. Leap years add an extra day every 4 years, which is accounted for automatically.
