Frequently Asked Questions
Exact age is calculated by subtracting the date of birth from today's date. Years are counted first, then remaining months, then remaining days. For example, born on 15 March 2000, today 22 April 2026 → age is 26 years, 1 month, 7 days.
Use the Age on a Date tab. Enter your date of birth and the target date (e.g. an exam cut-off date). The calculator finds your exact age on that day — useful for SSC, IBPS, and Railway age eligibility checks.
Age problems use linear equations. If A is x years old now:
After n years: A = x + n | Before n years: A = x − n
Set up two equations from the given conditions and solve for x. Ratio-based problems require cross-multiplication.
Yes. The calculator uses JavaScript's built-in Date object which correctly accounts for leap years (Feb 29) and varying month lengths (28–31 days) when computing exact age in days and months.
For SSC CGL, the general category upper age limit is typically 32 years as of the cut-off date specified in the notification. OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation (35 years) and SC/ST get 5 years (37 years). Always verify the current notification for exact cut-off dates.
